OUR FOUNDING:

The DSG Foundation, Inc. was a simple thought that transformed into a much larger challenge.

 

Linda Johnston, a lifelong Houstonian and native Texan, decided to dedicate her final days to helping her son and grandson build the Doing Something Good Foundation.
 

The Johnston family is familiar with many hardships. Linda is a widow who lives alone while the rest of the family is divided into their own life journey but have a firm lifelong commitment to The DSG Foundation, Inc.

 

Linda’s son Mark was blessed by an amazing Servant Leader who provided the first seed funding that launched The DSG Foundation, Inc. from scratch. The gift provided by this silent hero facilitated Mark Johnston’s ability to structure The  DSG Foundation, Inc.

 

Mark has given his life to Christ with a commitment to convert hardships into a fuel for positive catalyst to pursue a lifelong journey to helping others

DSG VISION:

Doing Something Good is contagious! Today’s world is ever changing, and many great organizations are doing great work to serve others.

 

Our vision is to be a solid pillar to reach others by providing everything we can.  What started out as an idea to address a few simple tasks, turned into a quest for exponential growth.
 

We prefer to be considered Servant Leaders instead of charity or philanthropists.  Helping others is critical and at times this does not receive as much participation as it truly demands.
 

Think back one hundred years. There are key organizations that were established
long ago, that have scaled dramatically. For example; Red Cross, Goodwill, The
Salvation Army. Over decades they have provided billions of dollars in aid and
have touched millions of people.

 

Think about all the men and women who have used their personal wealth and dedicated their lives to helping others. Each year we lose many of those people who made giving back their entire livelihood.
 

Well, we need to not only replace those heroes, but glorify the example they have
established by following their noble deeds. Today, we have a lot of data on
charitable giving but much more must be done to always address the needs of
others. We seek to grow something very special while establishing a platform to function

HOW WE GROW:

​

The DSG Foundation, Inc. is established and identified by the IRS as a section
501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
 

We are classified as a Private Foundation. What makes DSG unique is we are
fully self-sustaining. We rely primarily on The DSG Endowment, Inc., as well as
wholly owned subsidiaries to fund our operations and philanthropic work.
 

Our growth is scaled by operating revenue generating companies that contribute
all of their profits to fund, develop, and scale our services to all we serve.
 

This requires a lot of resources from both Financial and Human Capital to do
what we set out to accomplish.
The first phase I of our fleet transportation services has been formed. Additional
phases will be structured to scale this entity.
 

Once we stabilize our first endeavor, other essential services will be incorporated
to grow our revenue. DSG is currently reviewing other opportunities in several
industries of interest.
